Children’s Christmas Fair & Activities appeal

We are raising money for a Christmas Fair for children from the Caerphilly Community. Money raised will go towards the hosting a Christmas Fair with Father Christmas and presents for every child that attends; as well as wider activities for the children including a craft-making class, stay and play activities, and a gardening project.

We hope to raise £1000 this month so we can arrange the Christmas Fair and activities with the aim of supporting 100 children.

Please give what you can. We will share photos and updates on this page. You can give through our appeal page: localgiving.org/charity/cmcc/

We rely on the generosity of our community and we are grateful for every donation. Diolch yn fawr!

Crowdfunding February & March 2021
Mobility & inclusion for our golden oldies

To improve mobility & wellbeing for our older members through online dance, seated dance and chair exercises, we are appealing for funding. What we are aiming to do is:

Connecting through activities
We want to encourage older people to become more active, whilst socialising, through our online dance and seated exercise classes from the comfort of their own home. This will have a positive impact on their wider physical, emotional and mental well-being.

At Caerphilly Miners Centre for the Community...
we cater disproportionately for people lacking transport, socially isolated and digitally excluded. Lockdown has been particularly hard on this group, especially the elderly, with many reporting low morale, anxiety and loneliness.

We want to use this money to sustain a series of ONLINE dance and fitness classes for our older members - seated dance, dance for over 50s and fitness exercises. Lockdown has been particularly hard on this group, especially the more elderly, and we want to encourage them to become more active, whilst socialising, through our online dance and seated exercise classes from the comfort of their own home. This will have a positive impact on their wider physical, emotional and mental well-being.

We want to be able to organise a series of activities around mobility focussed on our older members, many have access to tablets and have started joining in our weekly online chats. We have two excellent teachers that used to teach these activities at the Centre. The money we raise will go to paying them to run a series of classes for our older members that are free to join, we will also promote this throughout our wider community in the hope of attracting even more older and excluded people in need of activities, exercise and new friends.

Appeal for our winter garden

Caerphilly Miners Centre Garden Appeal

We are appealing for donations to help our environment as well as the mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of our community.

We have designed a climate change garden which will enable our gardening club volunteers to get stuck in over the coming winter months, it will help their physical and mental wellbeing as well as hopefully contribute to the wellbeing of all who pass by and visit the Miners Centre.

The plants have been selected for their properties for example a mix of pollinators, long flowering, hardy, perennials, plants that change colour and appeal to our senses.

Having an attractive front garden will enhance the wellbeing of our whole community and the design will last for years to come.

We include a list of plants below and are hoping to fill the front beds initially.  Would you be able to contribute?
If so please give through our appeal page: localgiving.org/wintergarden

We are currently raising money to help us stay in touch with our community throughout the pandemic. Our doors maybe closed but we are working as hard as ever to support the well-being of our community through our website, social media, WhatsApp groups, and good old-fashioned phone calls.

All of our content is available, for free, for everyone. However, if you would like to give, even the cost of a class or anything you can, we would be really and are always grateful for your support.

Please help us share the message.

Please help us raise awareness and secure funding for the Miners Centre so that we can support our community during the difficult months ahead.
