Volunteering Opportunities

Digital Volunteers needed

The Covic-19 pandemic has shown us how reliant we all are on IT and social media to stay connected, to access classes and activities and to keep informed.  We have also learned that our centre can only serve our whole community by reaching out to people who cannot access our building but want to enjoy the activities we have to offer.

Caerphilly Miners Centre is run by a committed group of local residents who have come together to bring new life into the old ‘Caerphilly Miners’ for the benefit of our community.

During the last year we have helped each other to access Zoom, WhatsApp, Skype and other social media.  With plans to return to the centre, we will need further help to support those physically excluded.

We need digital help from people to support online and hybrid delivery of our activities.

As a digital volunteer, you would be expected to support the following:

  • on line activity – supporting people with accessing e-mails, Google, websites, social media and Zoom

  • at the centre – supporting activity leaders and stewards with setting up equipment for activities and classes run at the centre, hybrid and online only.

For more information or to apply please contact: digital.inclusion@caerphillyminerscentre.org.uk

Volunteer Stewards needed

Caerphilly Miners Centre relies on stewards for so many activities, we need reliable people to help us run the Centre and its activities.

We need volunteers that want to support their community, being on hand for different hours and days, for a variety of duties but essentially to enable the Miners to host classes and activities.

Please get in touch if you want more information.

You can say what hours you’d like to donate, how long your shifts will be and the things you cannot do.

Being a steward means that you get to meet new people. You will be able to work with a great team, who do an important job.  It’s nice to be appreciated!
