Climate Change Garden for the Future

Do you want to join us in planting for the future?

We are building a climate change garden for the future with a pond, an area of reflection, raised beds for edible plants, a wildflower meadow, a composting area, and water harvesting. We will also have children’s plant and grow projects - all year round.

We all know gardening is good for our mental, physical and emotional health, its also a good way to get to know more people in the Caerphilly community and to take positive environmental action and support local food growing.

This ambitious project is getting underway and we need volunteers and plants over the next few months to shape this fabulous community resource.

If you want to get involved, we are looking for gardeners experienced and new, as well as gardening materials, can you help with any of the following:

  • Donation of vegetable seeds or seedlings for planting in our raised beds

  • Donating time to help with gardening activities once restrictions are lifted

  • Supporting our Saturday morning children’s gardening project? We need plenty of volunteers with skills in gardening, carpentry, crafts, working with primary school age children for this project

Help us create a thriving, sustainable garden for people and wildlife, transforming the overgrown area around the Miners’ Centre into a space for growing, learning and coming together.

The Digital Wildlife Garden has been developed to share our Climate Change Garden with you, whether you can visit our centre or not. We hope you enjoy.

Please contact secretary@caerphillyminerscentre.org.uk if you can help in any way.
