Caerphilly Miners’ Centre Art Exhibition launched to mark 98th Anniversary of the Miners Hospital

On 30th June this year it was 98 years since the Miners Hospital was established and the Caerphilly Miners Centre for the Community is marking the occasion with an art exhibition.

The art exhibited is from local residents that have produced work through the art classes run at Caerphilly Miners’ Centre and shown on the walls in the hallway of the Centre.

Delyth Jewell MS officially opened the art exhibition and by doing so she also be marked the 98th anniversary of the Miners Hospital.

Hayley Yeoman has been the art class teacher at the Miners’ Centre for since September 2020. She has introduced new innovations, such as on line art classes for our Outreach project, activities for the Elderberries, and a daily word art challenge and virtual exhibition on our website, which took place during the pandemic restrictions. She has curated the exhibition to showcase the range of work produced in different classes over the years.

More of the story behind the exhibition and the works involved can be found here.
